A SHADY SANCTUARY, PRIMROSE HILL

This small, sloping north-facing garden started out life as an incredibly dark, uninviting place. With a careful re-design we generated feelings of space and light.

We introduced a minimal hard landscaping palette of a pale, sawn Yorkstone paving and setts, yellow London stock bricks and timber. These materials combined with shade-loving plants helped to create a soothing space which could be enjoyed into the evening with the help of a lighting sculpture by acclaimed artist, Bruce Munro. This illuminated artwork is a miniature version of his epic and world renowned, Field of Light art installation.
