COASTAL COURTYARD, BROADSTAIRS
This garden was a sun trap but was completely unused as uneven grass, broken paving and overgrown plants failed to tempt our clients outside.
Now, after a full re-design, the garden is in constant use. There is a relaxed seating area, a dining space on the reclaimed timber deck and low maintenance plants providing colour, movement and texture.
A small deciduous tree was recommended to sit amongst the perennials and grasses to partially screen the dining area from the house and make the garden feel bigger. The tree would have provided some much needed dappled shade and provided vertical interest all year around. At the client’s request the tree will be planted at a later date.
